CONNECTICUT Danbury Hospital has selected the S/L/A/M Collaborative to design the new North Tower Clinical Addition. The project entails a 12-story 300,000-sq-ft addition, including three 35-bed floors, a 30-bed intensive-care unit, a 40,000-sq-ft emergency department, a helipad and shell space to accommodate surgical rooms, as needed in the future. MAINE The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $13.2-million contract to Nickerson & O’Day Inc. for the second phase of the Maine Army National Guard ’ s Regional Training Institute , located at the Bangor Armed Forces Reserve Center. The project involves building 53,000 sq ft in four two-story buildings, containing dormitory and cafeteria facilities as well as athletic facilities. The project is expected to be completed in 2012.
