MARYLAND The University of Baltimore is planning to build the John and Frances Angelos Law Center. The 12-story, 190,000-sq-ft building, containing both offices, classrooms and law clinics, will serve 1,100 students. It was designed by Ayers/Saint/Gross of Baltimore and Behnisch Arzchitekten of Stuttgart, Germany. Whiting Turner Contractors holds the construction management contract. OKLAHOMA SandRidge Energy Corp. plans to spend up to $100 million on Sand -Ridge Commons, its headquarters campus in downtown Oklahoma City. Four office buildings will be demolished. Both the 30-story SandRidge Building and the 10-story Braniff Building will be renovated. Designed by Rogers Marvel Architects, a new six-story, 80,000-sq-ft employee facilities building will include a day-care center, an assembly hall and a fitness center. Protruding floors will allow for a sundeck and an outdoor play area adjacent to the day-care center, an outdoor climbing wall outside the fitness center and a rooftop basketball court. HAWAII dck pacific construction LLC has been awarded a $12.7-million firm-fixed-price contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command for construction of box magazines and supporting facilities at Navy Munitions Command, East Asia Division, Detachment Pearl Harbor. The project entails construction of five standard, type-C earth-covered box magazines and supporting facilities, including access roads, a concrete apron, interior lighting and power. Special foundation features include excavation of existing subgrade to the coral formation and concrete fill below the invert of the magazine foundation to the coral formation. The project is expected to be completed by December 2011. dck pacific construction LLC, 707 Richards St., Suite 410, Honolulu, 96813.

ILLINOIS HDR CUH2A has been awarded a commission to design a new research facility for Argonne National Laboratory. The Energy Sciences Building will be a four-story, 125,000-sq-ft facility located on the laboratory campus in Argonne. LOUISIANA M.R. Pittman Group LLC has been awarded a $19.6-million firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Bayou Segnette Pumping Station Nos. 1 and 2, fronting protection and modifications, in Jefferson Parish, La.  The project is expected to be completed by July 2012. OREGON Mortenson Construction has been selected by the Oak Lodge Sanitary District to provide construction management/general contracting services for the Oak Lodge Wastewater Treatment Plant renovation project in Oak Grove. The project includes an influent pump station, headworks building, aerations basin, secondary clarifiers and tank modifications. Construction cost is $30 million. TEXAS White Construction has been selected by the City of Austin, Public Works and Energy Dept., to provide design-build services for the proposed Municipal Court and Police Northeast Substation. The project includes reconstruction of existing facilities for a 57,600-sq-ft court facility, a 12,200-sq-ft auxiliary police location and 14,600 sq ft of shared functional spaces. ARIZONA 3/2 Maricopa County Community College District is seeking proposals for construction management-at-risk services for the 43,000-sq-ft expansion and 15,000-sq-ft remodel of Estrella Hall at Estrella Mountain Community College. CALIFORNIA 3/2 (proposals due) The Judicial Council of California is seeking proposals for IDIQ plan review services for about three new capital projects and 20 facility modifications at various yet-to-be-determined locations. Required work includes specific plan checking for State Fire Marshal for Fire and Life Safety and the Corrections Standards Authority for court holding cells. The program is valued at $15 million. OREGON 3/4 The Coquille Valley Hospital District is seeking proposals for design-build services for a 42,000- to 45,000-sq-ft replacement for the current hospital.
