Planning MARYLAND The University of Baltimore is planning to build the John and Frances Angelos Law Center. The 12-story, 190,000-sq-ft building, containing both offices, classrooms and law clinics, will serve 1,100 students. It was designed by Ayers/Saint/Gross of Baltimore and Behnisch Arzchitekten of Stuttgart, Germany. Whiting Turner Contractors holds the construction management contract. OKLAHOMA SandRidge Energy Corp. plans to spend up to $100 million on Sand -Ridge Commons, its headquarters campus in downtown Oklahoma City. Four office buildings will be demolished. Both the 30-story SandRidge Building and the 10-story Braniff Building will be renovated. Designed by Rogers Marvel Architects, a new six-story, 80,000-sq-ft employee facilities building will include a day-care center, an assembly hall and a fitness center. Protruding floors will allow for a sundeck and an outdoor play area adjacent to the day-care center, an outdoor climbing wall outside the fitness center and a rooftop basketball court. The project entails construction of five standard, type-C earth-covered box magazines and supporting facilities, including access roads, a concrete apron, interior lighting and power. Special foundation features include excavation of existing subgrade to the coral formation and concrete fill below the invert of the magazine foundation to the coral formation.
