NEW YORK The Albany Convention Center Authority is planning to build a new downtown convention center. The agency recently revealed the design for the brick-and-glass structure, developed by architect HNTB. The 296,500-sq-ft building will include a main exhibition hall, two ballrooms and other meeting spaces. It will be located near where Broadway meets Hudson Avenue, with loading docks beneath the South Mall arterial road. Estimated construction cost is $220 million. CALIFORNIA Korte Construction Co. has been selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District to provide design-build services for a 37,500-sq-ft child development center at Beale Air Force Base in Roseville.
