ARKANSAS Baptist Memorial Medical Care Corp. is planning a 250-bed, five-story, 500,000-sq-ft hospital in Jonesboro, to replace NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Bids are expected to be let in spring 2010, construction is expected to start by mid-2010. The project is valued at $200 million. WASHINGTON The Washington State Dept. of Transportation is seeking design-build services for the Alaskan Way Viaduct improvement project in Seattle. The project includes a 9,100-ft-long, 52-ft-dia bored tunnel, retaining walls, connecting roadway structures and vent-building foundations. The tunnel will extend from First Avenue South, between Charles and Dearborn, and terminate at State Route 99 near John Street. The estimated project cost is $1 billion.
