INDIANA Foster Wheeler AG, a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler USA, was awarded a full a engineering-procurement- construction-management contract by BP Products North America for the Coker Pillar Project at the Whiting Refinery in Whiting. The contract is an extension of Foster Wheeler’s previous role on the project, which covered engineering, procurement and fabrication work. The Coker Pillar Project is part of the larger modernization effort under way at the Whiting refinery to allow it to process Canadian heavy crude and increase motor-fuel production. MARYLAND The Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment has awarded a $114-million task order to CDM/CAPE joint venture. The design- build order covers the BRAC/National Capital Region Relocation Administration Facility at Andrews Air Force Base. The five-story, 380,000-sq-ft building will serve Dept. of Defense employees from Washington D.C.-area facilities scheduled for closure. The project will seek LEED Silver certification. OKLAHOMA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, has awarded a $42.4-million contract to Harper Construction Co. for design-build services for a new Armed Forces Reserve Center at Fort Sill. The 125,000-sq-ft training-center building will have administrative, educational, library and physical- fitness spaces. The contract also calls for a 25,000-sq-ft maintenance shop and a 48,000-sq-ft heated storage building. The project has an expected completion date of April 2010. TENNESSEE CB&I Construction Co. has received a $27.8-million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for design-build services on phase one of a turbine-engine dry-air-capability (TEDAC) facility at Arnold Air Force Base. The work includes construction of a desiccant drying system, foundations, duct supports, spools and expansion joints. The project has an estimated completion date of December, 2011.
