As we reported recently, results from ENR Southeast’s annual Top Specialty Contractors survey showed that regional firms kept making positive headway during 2015:

In all, respondents to this year’s survey collectively reported more than $6.2 billion in 2015 revenue, a 24.7% increase over the $4.99 billion reported a year ago. The survey’s end result, as readers know, is ENR Southeast’s annual Top Specialty Contractors ranking, which lists firms ranked on the volume of construction revenue generated from projects located in the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

As might be expected for a group showing such strong overall business performance, numerous firms made solid contributions to that overall growth number. One of those firms was Atlanta-based Cleveland Electric Co., named this year’s Specialty Contractor of the Year.

Among this year’s top 10-ranked firms, Cleveland Electric saw its revenue remain steady during 2015—after experiencing a hefty 44% increase the year before—for a $170.6-million total. The contractor is a steady player in the industrial and energy market, performing numerous projects for Southern Company, including past contracts at Plant Vogtle. Other recent projects include the recently completed, $1-billion Baxter Pharma Plant in Georgia, as well as multiple data-center projects in South Carolina. Additionally, the firm reports that it is working on the ongoing construction for the Atlanta Falcons’ future home, Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

ENR Southeast will have more information and insights about Cleveland Electric Co. in the upcoming September print edition.
