Firm's youngest owner making his mark without engineering degree

Despite not having an engineering degree, Nagata has worked through the ranks to become the youngest of three primary owners of the 31-year-old claim analysis and scheduling firm. He started as a staff consultant in 2000 and within five years had earned the title of director, managing several Trauner projects. Nagata became managing director of the Philadelphia office in 2008, managing the day-to-day operations of the company's main office. In 2010, he was invited to become one of the primary shareholders of the company and is now responsible for managing the technical operations of the firm, quality control and manpower utilization.

During his 15-year career, Palmer has gained expertise in managing complex public/private urban redevelopment projects, including stormwater management, brownfield remediation and waterfront redevelopment as well as mixed-use, institutional and residential development. His work in stormwater management is particularly notable. His understanding of Baltimore's development review and approvals process and local building codes helps him expedite the process and meet tight project schedules, according to STV. His team designed and permitted Baltimore's first green alley system, which is a porous pavement system for public alleys. He also developed a comprehensive approach to stormwater management facilities at the Parks & People Foundation headquarters.
