Located at the Hialeah Rail Yard in Miami-Dade County, this project involved engineering, procurement and construction of a 100,000-gallon-per-day liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility. OnQuest Inc., a subsidiary of Primoris Services Corp., was awarded the EPC contract by project owner Fortress Investment Group for the purpose of liquefying gas for railroad engine fuel supply. Project management and crews had to work on a compressed schedule due to the owner’s request that the project be 80% complete within six months. To meet this goal, the construction team increased manpower by 50% during the second half of the six-month time frame. Contractors also modified work schedules, with the project team working staggered 12-day periods of 10 hours per day.
