The construction team renovated three community facilities during the eight-month project, including improvements to the Ranch House, the Community Center and Dakota Lodge. Interior spaces were remodeled, outdated systems upgraded and accessibility improved. A more efficient use of space was created throughout all three facilities. Challenges included working with a 100-year-old structure and installing an elevator in an occupied building.

The behind-the-walls work included asbestos removal, new plumbing, electrical panels, lighting and HVAC systems. Complex phasing and sequencing kept all three buildings operating during construction. The project became the largest renovation in the history of the covenant-controlled Ken Caryl community southwest of Denver.
