Portland Public Schools is seeking voter approval in November for several massive updates to schools throughout the city. If approved, modernizations will proceed for Lincoln High School, Benson Polytech High School and Madison High School. In addition to those improvements, the district is also looking to make $300 million in environmental improvements to many other schools. The total value is $750 million. Washington

The state of Washington has named a joint venture between Lease Crutcher Lewis and Clark Construction as general contractor for the planned Washington State Convention Center Expansion. The project is valued at between $700 million and $800 million and has a targeted completion date of Dec. 1, 2020. The project will consist of one building with a parking garage. The building will be 11 stories above grade and two stories below and will total 1.2 million sq ft. Sound Transit has selected Mass Electric as general contractor for the installation of a new guidance detection tracking system, communication lines and railroad work on the Northgate/East Link extension. The project is valued at between $300 and $350 million. Work will include installation of train control, traction power substations, an overhead catenary system and stray current as well as SCADA and communications systems.
