David Lundgren Jr.David Lundgren Jr. has been hired as a principal in Stantec’s San Francisco office, where he will lead the environmental practice. Previously, Lundgren managed several multiyear environmental on-call contracts with Caltrans District 4. He also worked on multiple Pacific Gas & Electric high-pressure gas pipeline strength test segments along sensitive habitats.


ALTA Environmental hired Eric Fraske as senior consultant and project manager in its site assessment, remediation and closure division. Anthony Vincente also joined the consulting firm as a technician in the building sciences division.


Yvonne ColacionYvonne Colacion has been named design director for Gensler’s Los Angeles office. Colacion—who has won several awards, including IIDA Calibre and Interior Design Best of Year—will lead the hospitality practice. She worked for Gensler from 1995 to 2006. Prior to rejoining Gensler, Colacion was principal and founder of Colacion Studio. She was also vice president at RTKL and worked for Rottet Studio.


Timothy HurvitzTimothy Hurvitz joined Harley Ellis Devereaux’s San Francisco office as an associate. He will lead the firm’s health care studio. Hurvitz previously served as architect and medical planner in health care at ZGF Architects. His large-scale projects include the Dignity Health Medical Group, Sequoia Hospital Pavilion in Redwood City and the expansion of the Orthopedic Hospital at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.


Francisco ArceoEstimator Francisco Arceo joined Sundt Construction Inc.’s preconstruction team in San Diego. He will assist with budgeting, bidding activities, document controls and constructibility reviews. Previously, he was a project manager and estimator for a San Diego-area general contractor.


Blake EvansBlake Evans was named principal at Mott MacDonald in Pleasanton, where he will help lead the firm’s efforts to grow its oil and gas portfolio in California and the Western U.S.  He has experience in oil and gas facilities, pipelines and industrial complexes.


Howard HoHoward Ho joins the Los Angeles office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff as senior associate. Ho will manage design of  mechanical systems in buildings throughout the state. Previously, he worked for DLR Group and Syska Hennessy. He has designed central chilled and hot water plants and other mechanical systems for transportation, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, residential and retail projects.


Michael Baker International promoted Anna Lantin to senior vice president and regional director of the West region. Based in Southern California, Lantin has been with the firm since 1998 and previously served as water practice lead.


OBITUARY

Jona Goldrich, a real estate tycoon who transformed downtown Los Angeles and Marina del Rey, has died at 88. The Holocaust survivor arrived in Los Angeles with $50 before founding Goldrich & Kest in the 1950s. The real estate development and management firm now holds a portfolio of 211 properties, including 120 apartment buildings, 70 of which have low-income housing that offer free after-school and summer programs. Goldrich also created the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust in Pan Pacific Park. The Goldrich Family Foundation funds the fight to cure disease, supports local schools and international universities, promotes social justice and supports Holocaust remembrance and awareness.

Ed Burton has been hired by SmithGroupJJR’s Los Angeles office as leader of the firm’s worldwide science and technology practice. He previously worked for HOK as science and technology regional leader for the Southwest.
