The Fifteen Group has received approval for its planned $285-million 15 Group project on Biscayne Boulevard. The proposed work includes a historic restoration of the former First Church of Christ, Scientist building and construction of a 48-story structure featuring 10 floors of parking, 352 residential units and approximately 11,600 sq ft of commercial space. The Broward County Aviation Dept. expects construction to begin by December on its planned estimated $100-million Terminal 2 Modernization project at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Design work has been completed on the project, which calls for modifications and improvements to Terminal 2 to raise the level of service of multiple terminal components including the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint screening areas, restrooms, gate/holdroom areas, general concessions and finishes of the building. China City Construction Holding Group is the owner for the planned CCCC Miami Towers mixed-use project in Miami. Planning and design is underway for the estimated $750-million project, which is proposed as a two-building, 3.2-million-sq-ft development to be located on a 2.4-acre site on Miami Avenue. Georgia

The Trillist Cos. is seeking financing and has begun progressing on design development for its planned 1138 Peachtree Street residential tower and mixed-use development in Atlanta. Estimated at a cost of $165 million, the 51-story building will include 370 residential units ranging up to 1,100 sq ft, 40,000 sq ft of retail space, a parking deck and a swimming pool. North American Properties has acquired land and is proceeding on a master plan for its proposed $1-billion Lorelei/Laurel Island mixed-use development in Charleston. The project will include retail and restaurant space, a hotel, loft-style offices, an office building, residential and senior living units, meeting space and an entertainment venue, along with boat access. Charleston County School District has awarded the demolition and early site packages for its $81-million Lucy Garrett Beckham High School project in Mount Pleasant. The project includes demolition of the Old Wando South High School and demolition of the Unity Baptist Church and Daycare located adjacent to the high school.
