Missouri Hudson Holdings, a developer specializing in downtown historic re-use projects, is planning to redevelop the Railway Exchange Building in St. Louis. Built in 1914, the 21-story, 1.2-million-sq-ft building formerly housed the flagship department store of the Famous-Barr chain and, later, a Macy’s, which closed in 2013. The tallest building in St. Louis when it opened, it remains the second-largest building by interior area in the city’s downtown. New Mexico Pegasus Global Holdings LLC is planning to build an international commercial space-launch facility on the White Sands Missile Range. To be located at SpacePort America, the project will include three launch pads, two vertical integration facilities, one horizontal integration facility, a fuel-processing center, and a 200,000-sq-ft administrative and command-control center. New York The New York State Dept. of Transportation is planning to develop the Remsen-to-Lake Placid Travel Corridor. The project entails upgrading 45 miles of the rail line to extend a tourist train route between Utica and Tupper Lake. The second part of the project involves removing railroad tracks between Tupper Lake and Lake Placid and building a 34-mile community recreational trail. The project is valued at $23 million. Tennessee Hastings Architecture Associates, which is both the project owner and designer, is planning to build the Ballpark Apartments and Retail at Third Avenue North and Jackson Street in Nashville. The project will include two six-story buildings, containing a to-be-determined number of residential units, plus ground-level retail space. Texas Meyers Group is planning to develop a mixed-use project in El Paso. It will consist of a 22-story, 256-ft-tall, 423,662-sq-ft tower, containing 228 apartments, a 219-room hotel, retail space and a 715-space parking garage. Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design Inc. is the designer. When completed, it will be the second-tallest building in El Paso. The project has been valued at between $25 million and $50 million. Colorado Clear Creek Real Estate has started to convert Old El Jebel Shrine—a 60,000-sq-ft, Moorish-style building, erected in 1929 in Denver—into 25 condominiums, to be called Mirador@Tennyson Condos. Massachusetts Cranshaw Construction, acting as the construction manager-at-risk, has started building the Siena at Ink Block Condominiums, located at 237-241 Albany St. in Boston. The project involves erecting an eight-story, 100,200-sq-ft building, containing 79 condominiums, a swimming pool, a Whole Foods Market, restaurants and other retailers on the ground floor. Montana Hardy Construction Co. has started constructing the Stockman Bank Building in Missoula. The six-story, 65,000-sq-ft building, located at 300 W. Broadway, will have an attached parking garage and two levels of retail. The project also includes the on-site demolition of the former Salvation Army Building. California 6/21 The City of Rancho Cucamonga is re-bidding the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District Fire Training Center. The project entails the construction of three two-story buildings, totaling 20,934 sq ft. HMC Architects designed the project, and Erickson Hall Construction Co. has been selected as the construction manager. The project’s value has been estimated at $13.7 million. Georgia 6/24 The Paulding County Board of Commissioners is seeking bidders to construct the Richland Creek Dam in Paulding County.
