On Dec. 10, Faraday Future and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval (R) announced a tentative deal to build a $1-billion, 3-million-sq-ft electric car factory north of Las Vegas. Work could start next year, pending legislative approval. The proposal includes $335 million in tax incentives and infrastructure spending. The deal calls for the Nevada Dept. of Transportation to accelerate the schedule on planned projects estimated at $45 million to $50 million, including construction of an enhanced interchange at the intersection of I-15 and U.S. 93 and widening U.S. 93 to four lanes. Other infrastructure work would upgrade a water pipeline and fund construction of a rail port, water treatment plants and flood prevention.
