MASSACHUSETTS Chocolate Factory LLC is planning to convert an 1860s-era, six-story, 240,000-sq-ft former mill complex, located in Mansfield, into 130 residential units and about 35,000 sq ft of commercial and industrial space. The Lowney Chocolate Factory began operating there in 1903, and successor Archer Daniels Midland Co. continued producing chocolates there until 2011. BKA Architects Inc. is the designer. OREGON Google, Inc. is planning to build a four-story office, data center and parking garage in the Gorge Industrial Center in The Dalles. TEXAS Northgate Church of the Assemblies of God is planning to build a new church on a 37-acre site at 2800 Pleasant Valley in Sachse. UTAH Bonneville Builders has started constructing Joule Plaza, a mixed-use complex in Saint George. FLORIDA 11/20 Hillsborough County Dept. of Procurement Services is requesting proposals for design-build services for a tournament sports complex in Brandon. The fields are expected to be used primarily for tournament soccer but may also be used for youth football and lacrosse. TENNESSEE 12/2 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out the Center Hill Dam Reinforcing Berm project, which entails constructing a grouting and inspection gallery along the berm’s interior. The face of the berm is conventional concrete or grout-enriched. The footprint and abutments require about 100,000 cu yd of overburden and rock excavation. The space between the saddle dam and berm will be filled with 160,000 cu yd of unclassified excavated material from stabilization efforts along the left rim. At the left rim, drilling, blasting, scaling and stabilization of rock will be required to reshape to a stable slope each side of an existing rock cut. Total material to be excavated from the left rim is about 250,000 cu yd. The project has been valued at between $25 million and $100 million.
