Pulse/Dodge Project News: Senior Housing Planned In N.Y.
New York The SeaView Senior Living Housing Development Fund Corp. is planning to build the SeaView Senior Housing Campus in Staten Island. The project entails the construction of an 11,820-sq-ft commons building and a three-story, 95,000-sq-ft building, which will contain 120 assisted-living units, and the renovation of a 9,000-sq-ft staff residence for social gatherings and ancillary uses. Located on a 15-acre site on Brielle Avenue between Walcott and Rockland avenues in the Willowbrook neighborhood, the project is valued at $26 million. Ohio The Toledo Zoo is planning to renovate their aquarium. The project entails expanding the total water volume of its exhibits to 170,000 gallons from 46,000 gallons. The largest exhibit, the new 90,000-gallon Pacific Coral Reef tank, will be accommodated within the historical rotunda of the original building with six new, large windows. In addition, a new 40,000-gallon outdoor penguin exhibit is being proposed. Construction is expected to begin in November, and the remodeled facility is scheduled to open in spring 2015.
