New Jersey Seashore Solar Development LLC has awarded SPI Solar a contract to engineer, procure and construct an 11.3-MW solar energy facility in Egg Harbor Township. The project will entail designing and building a ground-mounted 42,000-panel array on a closed landfill located off Atlantic Avenue. The electricity generated will be sold wholesale to the power grid through PJM, a regional transmission organization that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity for regional utilities. West Virginia Carl Kelly Paving Inc. has started construction on the Emerson Avenue bridge reconstruction project outside Parkersburg. District of Columbia 2/1 Construction manager Clark Construction Group/Smoot/Russell, a joint venture, is seeking bidders to build the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which is part of the Smithsonian Institution. The project entails constructing a 330,000-sq-ft building, with five stories above grade and two below grade, on a five-acre site bounded by Constitution Avenue, Madison Drive, and 14th and 15th streets. It will include exhibition galleries, performance and public program spaces, a theater, food service and retail. Non-public spaces will include a loading dock, collections handling rooms and administrative offices.
