Zach Borders, an associate with the Chicago office of architect/engineer HOK, will serve as chairman of the first-ever junior board for Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. The board raises awareness of educational outreach programs associated with the facility and also helps support restoration and preservation of the landmark building. Borders is an urban designer and certified planner with HOK’s planning group.

George Vukelich has joined the Chicago office of engineer Clark Dietz Inc. as a business development professional for the firm’s civil/environmental group. Vukelich brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience to his role, having served municipal, transportation and water/wastewater clients throughout the upper Midwest.

Manish Gandhi has joined the Indianapolis office of Minneapolis-based Opus Development as a senior project manager. Gandhi previously served as vice president with Indianapolis-based Capital Construction Services Inc. He also has held leadership and management positions with Panattoni Construction, Duke Realty and Pepper Construction. Gandhi has participated in many projects in the central Indiana region, including Southport Crossing, St. Vincent Medical Office Building, St. Mary’s Medical Center and City Center at Penn.

Alexa Kunz has been named marketing manager with St. Louis-based design-build firm Clayco Inc. Prior to joining Clayco, Kunz founded the marketing and design firm Marketektur, which serves the St. Louis area’s design and construction communities. She also has worked with design firms in California.

Vivian Mumaw has expanded her role as lease administrator with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a Chicago-based financial and professional services company specializing in real estate. In her new role, Mumaw is optimizing strategic service delivery for the firm’s global corporate client base.

Kyle Murphy has joined Wausau, Wis.-based interiors firm Samuels Group/Environments, a division of general contractor Samuels Group Inc., as business development manager for its western region. Murphy is responsible for providing interiors solutions for office environments.

Ann Woboril has joined Milwaukee-based contractor and construction manager Miron as a project manager. Woboril is responsible for assisting project managers with all aspects of project coordination.

Jacques Cattan has been named vice president of certification with the Chicago-based American Institute of Steel Construction. Heath Mitchell has been named AISC director of technical assistance. Cattan was previously with Chicago-based architect/engineer Teng & Associates. Mitchell was previously with structural engineer PCS Structural Solutions in Tacoma, Wash.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Chicago has named its 2011 board of directors, which includes Fred Brandstrater, serving as chapter president, and Rand Ekman , who was named president elect. AIA Chicago’s board of vice presidents includes Peter Exley and Anthony LoBello . Its secretary is Aurelien Tsemo . Directors include Michael Damore, Mark Frisch, Dina Griffin and Susan Turner .
