The Texas Water Development Board approved financial assistance totaling $598 million including funding from the stimulus bill.

Among the funding includes financial assistance not to exceed $45 million through the State Participation Account and a loan in the amount of $12 million from the Water Infrastructure Fund to finance a water supply project to the Colorado River Municipal Water District in Howard, Ector and Scurry Counties; additionally the fund will provide a $47 million loan to finance a water supply project to the city of Amarillo.

TWDB also approved $142 million in funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (stimulus funding) through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
