Austin's Mobility Authority Closes $32-Million Loan for Expressway
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and the Texas Transportation Commission closed on a $31.6-million loan from the State Infrastructure Bank for the US 290 East (Manor Expressway) project in the Austin area.
The loan will help fund right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation on a 1.4-mi segment of the roadway between U.S. 183 and Springdale Road. The segment, when combined with a new flyover interchange at U.S. 183, is designed to improve traffic flow in the corridor. The completion of the roadway segment and the flyover interchange is expected in 2013 at an estimated cost of $200 million, $50 million less than previous estimates.
