The Nevada Contractors Association named the winners of its 10th annual "Contractor of the Year" Awards. Perini Building Co. was named 2009 Contractor of the Year for its work on MGM Mirage’s $8.5 billion CityCenter development on the Las Vegas Strip.

Other award winners include: Aztech Inspections and Testing, Subcontractor of the Year; Laborers-Employers Cooperation & Education Trust, Associate of the Year; Peterbilt of Las Vegas, Supplier of the Year; North Corridor Constructors, Safest Contractor of the Year; Las Vegas Paving Corp., Heavy Highway/Civil Project of the Year ($75 million McCarran International Airport 25L/7R Runway Project); McCarthy Building Cos., Building Project of the Year ($59 million Veteran's Tribute Career & Technical Academy); and Rick Ewing, Las Vegas Paving Corp., Recruiter of the Year.

An awards ceremony took place on December 1 at the Rio All-Suite Resort Casino, Convention Center, attracting over 350 industry leaders, business professionals and elected officials. Nevada University Regent Kevin Page served as master of ceremonies, assisted by 2009 Miss Rodeo America Maegan Ridley.
