River City Middle School will add 18,900 sq ft to expand the kitchen and build a second floor for 12 classrooms.

The contract also includes a new 47,300-sq-ft elementary school, auditorium and auxiliary gym additions at Post Falls High School and an addition for two classrooms at West Ridge Elementary School.

Design is underway and construction for the work at River City Middle School is scheduled to bid in April.

Work at the new elementary school will bid in August, and the other projects will bid early next year. All work will be done as design-bid-build delivery.

The new elementary school, to be located in the Fieldstone Subdivision, will be ready for occupancy in fall 2016. It will help ease overcrowding at existing schools.
