Matrix Design Group Inc., Denver, has added Greg Severance as director of energy. Severance joins Matrix after decades of professional experience in public works, including energy and traffic engineering. Severance most recently served as director of public works for Pueblo County in Colorado.


“Greg brings a wealth of expertise to Matrix in both the public works and energy market sectors. As the director of energy services, he will be leading us to new markets within Colorado and throughout the Western U.S.,” said Dan Schnepf, CEO of Matrix. 


Also, Nancy Kristof has joined Matrix as marketing director, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in marketing professional services for the built environment to the firm. 


In other Matrix staffing news, Jennifer Newby, water resources engineer, passed the professional engineering exam and is now a licensed engineer in Colorado. Newby is working on several of Matrix’s current projects including the Sand Creek/Coal Creek/Murphy Creek Master Drainage Plan and the Washington Street Widening project.


Brian Bern, Matrix project engineer, was selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers Region 7 Board of Governors to receive the 2011 Outstanding ASCE Younger Member Award.
