HDR’s Folsom office has been recognized recently with two awards, one national and one local, from the American Society of Civil Engineers for its work with younger members.

HDR Folsom has received the 2010 ASCE Superior Employer Recognition Award for its commitment to the development of young members and support of young engineers in the private sector. Only one private and one public sector company received the award nationwide. HDR was nominated to receive the national award by Kimberly Brown, a project engineer in the Folsom office.

Additionally, at the local level, Brown has received the American Society of Civil Engineer’s Region 9 Outstanding Younger Member Officer Award.  Her commitment to developing young professionals from kindergarten to college students earned her this honor, HDR says. She currently serves as the ASCE Younger Member Forum community service director. She has worked with elementary, high school and university students in the Sacramento area, including Girl Scout programs, local engineering and science fairs, university career panels and resume workshops.
