Pat Maciulla

MACIULLA
has joined Lang Wyatt Construction in Tucson, Ariz., as director of operations. He brings nearly 40 years of experience, including 20 years with Giles Construction, where he served as president for more than a decade.

 

Lee & Associates of Phoenix has hired veteran broker Scott Smith as a principal for the firm's industrial team. Smith transfers from the Lee & Associates office in Orange, Calif. where he started in 2002. He has worked in the industry for nearly 30 years, starting his career at CB Richard Ellis in 1983 and later working as an industrial leasing and sales expert in Orange and Los Angeles counties. He was named a Lee & Associates Top Broker Award in 2004 and has earned other notable commercial real estate and civic awards in Southern California.

 

Jeff Wood

WOOD
has been named project director for the Las Vegas office of McCarthy Building Cos. Wood has more than a decade of construction experience and has managed more than $7 billion in total project value, demonstrating an ability of planning and delivering large hospitality and high-rise hotel projects on-time and within budget. He previously worked for The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and before that served as project manager for the construction of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and as a construction manager for Station Casinos. Wood has a bachelor's degree in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

 

Mike Smejkal

SMEJKAL
has been hired as director of engineering for the Tucson Airport Authority. He will manage all civil engineering activities related to airfield and landside development for Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield. A former project manager for Crawford, Murphy and Tilly Inc., Smejkal brings 13 years of experience with airport engineering projects, working with airports of all sizes across the nation on projects such as complex airfield programs, utility projects, roadways, drainage and pavement management. Smejkal holds bachelor’s degree and a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Illinois and is a registered civil engineer in Arizona and additional states.

 

Nancy Kelley

KELLEY
was promoted to assistant controller at Kitchell. She will oversee risk management, accounts payable, cash flow management, forecasting and financial/tax reporting for the Phoenix-based contracting and construction management firm. Kelley served as Kitchell Contractors' director of finance for the past seven years, where she worked closely with the management team. She led risk management where she negotiated, procured and various insurance programs required. She also oversaw project and financial forecasting, overhead budgeting and financial business planning. Kelley has been with the firm for 10 years.
