HOIST
Pete Holst has rejoined Gilbane Building Co.'s North Carolina leadership team as senior project executive in the contractor's Durham, N.C., office. Holst, who has 30 years of industry experience, will focus on the life science, corporate and mission-critical markets.

Sam Stiteler, a business development manager with Metro Power, was recently installed as 2014 chairman of the board of Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia in Atlanta. Stiteler has 13 years of construction industry experience and has been actively involved with ABC of Georgia for more than a decade.

Other association officers installed included: Phil Greeves, JAMCo Inc., as chairman-elect; Jeff Toebe, McCarthy Building Cos., as vice chairman; and Al Clark, Smith Adcock & Co., as treasurer. LAUZIER
Andy Lauzier was promoted to the position of transportation planning and design director for HDR in Orlando. Previously, Lauzier served as section manager and managing principal for the firm's Orlando office.

Also in Orlando, Chuck McLendon joined the firm as waste sector leader for Florida. Previously, McLendon worked as director of operations for R.W. Beck's Southeast solid waste group.

Chris Brown joined HDR's Raleigh, N.C., office as a senior project manager. Brown joins the engineering firm after 25 years with Dewberry, where he most recently served as a vice president and business unit manager. In his new position, Brown will focus on pump stations and pipeline projects as well as condition assessments.

 

LIVENGOOD
Grant Livengood has been promoted to business unit leader in McKim & Creed's Raleigh office. Prior to this appointment, Livengood oversaw the Raleigh office's civil and site engineering and planning projects. Livengood is an 18-year veteran with the engineering, surveying and planning firm.

Matthew Daves was promoted to business unit leader for McKim & Creed's Raleigh office. In this position, Daves will be in charge of developing sustainable, cost-effective clean-energy solutions for commercial, health care, institutional and education facilities. Daves joined McKim & Creed in 2013 as part of the company's acquisition of United Engineering Group.

Curtis Burkett joined McKim & Creed's Daytona Beach, Fla., office as a regional manager. In this role, Burkett will provide strategic direction to expand the firm's presence in the region. Burkett's past experience includes water, sewer and roadway projects as well as municipal engineering. He previously served as a regional manager with Zev Cohen & Associates.

John Haymaker has joined design firm Perkins+Will's Atlanta office as director of research. Haymaker will oversee the firm's practice-based knowledge centers as well as project-based integrated research. Additionally, he will oversee Perkins+Will's AREA Research, a nonprofit organization that conducts research related to the built environment for public benefit. The organization covers several areas of inquiry, including health, cities, workplace, education, process, technology and sustainability.

According to the firm, Haymaker foresees an increase in research projects as well as more process and systems expertise integrated into designs.

Haymaker is an assistant professor of architecture and building construction at Georgia Institute of Technology and holds a doctorate degree in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University. Haymaker was named Fiatech's Outstanding Early Career Researcher in 2012.

Alexander Randell joined Finley Engineering Group, Tallahassee, Fla., as a bridge designer. Randell recently graduated from the University of Florida with a master's degree in structural engineering. In addition, Colby Lindsay joined the firm as comptroller. Lindsay has 15 years of accounting, finance and administration experience.

Justin Edwards has been named Southeast regional manager of aviation in the Orlando office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. Edwards, with 24 years of experience in the aviation industry, will lead PB's aviation-related client and business development efforts in Florida and the Southeast. Prior to joining PB, Edwards was aviation business development manager for Florida at a Northeast-based consulting firm. He also previously served as airport manager for the Trenton-Mercer Airport in New Jersey.

PB also announced that John Brandvik has been hired in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. as a senior engineering manager. Brandvik will serve as program manager for the firm's construction and materials engineering management contract for Florida's Turnpike Enterprise. He has 28 years of civil engineering experience.
