The American Society of Civil Engineers' Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) program is honoring Charles H. Thornton, Thornton Tomasetti; Jeff Milton, Lane Corp.; Charles Ladd, MIT; Bo Temple, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and Mike Loose, Parsons Corp., with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

MaxLite, West Caldwell, N.J., has appointed Jeffrey Hirsch to customer support group manager. He will report directly to Zenny Haczyk, global operations director.

 

Leonard
VIP Structures, Syracuse, N.Y., has presented several employees with awards. The craftsmanship award was given to Chad Leonard for engineering; Jeff Milton for carpentry; Eric Mills for steel erection; Bill Young Jr. for concrete/masonry; Dan Payne Jr. for general labor; and Ed Barry for architecture.

New employee of the year awards were presented to Jim Coon for carpentry; Jake Trinkle for steel erection; Jevgenijs Kashkins for concrete/masonry; Steve Huttenmaier for general labor; Andrew Garlock for architecture; and Albert Daniels III for engineering.

Eric Mills, Rich Fleming Jr. and Bill Sellin Jr. received employee leadership awards in construction. Vince Raymond, in sales and marketing, received the community service award.

The superintendents' choice award was given to Mike Soutar, and the superintendent of the year award went to Dale Coss, who also received the chairman's choice employee of the year award.

Andrew P. Nazarian was named safety employee of the year.
