The John Twitty Energy Center operates well below permissible limits established by state and federal laws.

The plant's emission controls include activated carbon injection for mercury emission control; urea-based SCR for NOx emission control; and a dry fluidized bed scrubber for SO2 and acid gas emission control.

The four-year project required a staff of more than 60 designers and generated more than 20,000 vendor and contractor shop drawings.
