Western Council of Construction Consumers is hosting its third-annual Alternative Project Delivery Summit, set for Sept. 14 at the Ziggurat Auditorium of the Department of General Services Building in West Sacramento.

The full-day conference features:

  • A panel session and case studies on design-build, moderated by Tim Murchison, vice president, URS Corp. Panel members include Mark Cirksena, regional manager, DPR Construction; Mike Corrick, president, Nacht & Lewis Architects; Mike Meredith, project director, CDCR CHCF Stockton; and Ellen Warner, partner, David S. Taylor Interests, Inc.
  • A CM At Risk panel and case studies, moderated by Ken Harms, vice president, Gilbane Building Co. The panel includes Rick Millitello, executive vice president, Skanska USA Building, Inc.; James Sowerbrower, chief of construction management, CSU System; Jim Mueller, chairman of the board and corrections director, KMD Architects; and Robert Uvalle, manager, design and construction services at the Administrative Office of the Courts.
  • And a panel and case studies session on public-private partnerships, moderated by Jeff Baize, CEO, Brookhurst Development Corp. Panel includes Clifford Ham, principal architect, Administrative Office of the Courts; Roger Niello, former assemblyman and an author of the PPP bill; Peter Luchetti, founder, Table Rock Capital LLP; Mark Kempton, director, Skanska; and Jim Corning, National Development Council.

Following lunch, a keynote presentation is scheduled by Senator Roderick Wright (tentative), author of SB 475, a bill that allows for alternative delivery through P3s.

Later in the afternoon, Dick Cowan, vice president of Davis Reed Construction will give a presentation on integrated project delivery.
