Burks has been in the occupational safety profession for nearly 30 years. He is a local chapter past president of the American Society of Safety Engineers, a registered professional engineer, a certified safety professional with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and an authorized instructor for OSHA Construction & General Industry's 10- and 30-hour classes. In addition, Burks has written on the topic of safety for many publications including EHS Today and Professional Safety. He is also an adjunct safety instructor at the Region VII OSHA Training Institute Education Center located at Metropolitan Community College's Business & Technology campus and is the recipient of American Society of Safety Engineers' Region IV Safety Professional of the Year Award.

Hammond is responsible for representing Parsons Brinckerhoff in many areas. These include the emerging transportation practice areas of funding and finance, institutional and organizational arrangements, performance management and asset management, effective and efficient program management and project delivery, pricing and managed lanes, and innovative technologies in transportation operations. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Hammond dedicated her 34-year career in public service to improving the transportation systems in Washington state. Her past positions include secretary of transportation for the Washington State Dept. of Transportation, where she was responsible for the leadership of 6,800 employees tasked with daily operations, maintenance and improvement of 20,000 lane miles of state highways and 3,500 bridges and tunnels as well as the Washington state ferries.
