A recognized expert in the field of transportation engineering and planning, Herzstein has managed hundreds of transportation studies throughout the Western U.S. as well as transportation plans for projects in the Middle East. Along the way, she has played a key role on some of the region's complex projects, including the Seattle NBA/NHL Arena, the Bellingham Waterfront Redevelopment and several urban hospital master plans.

At Transpo Group, Herzstein has become one of the firm's leading experts in parking planning and analysis with expertise in parking data collection techniques, management strategies, parking policies and technology. Among her most recent honors, she won the firm's 2013 inaugural Transpo Company Values Award and the ASCE Western Region Outstanding Younger Member in Activities 2013 award.

Herzstein has been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers since 1998 and is currently president-elect of the group's Seattle chapter. She has also held positions on national ASCE committees with the San Francisco Section and the Seattle Younger Member Forum. She is also a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, Order of the Engineer and Girl Scouts USA. Herzstein holds a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of California.

With a focus on improving or reinventing processes and tasks, Hughes has earned the nickname "tech superstar" at his firm. During his three years with Skanska, the University of Washington graduate has progressed from an intern to his current position as senior project engineer for special projects.

Shortly after joining the firm, Hughes won an internal national innovation grant used to fund the adoption of Microsoft's Kinect platform to enable users to access project documents with a hand swipe. The effort earned the firm Seattle Business Magazine's Silver Technology Impact award in 2012.

Working with Bluebeam Software, Hughes helped found a general contractors coalition, called All PDFs Created Equal, which is focused on standardizing best practices for using PDFs. Separately, Hughes established Skanska's High-Tech Advisory and Resource Council and initiated a revamping of its punch-list process that is now being used throughout the region. Away from work, Hughes volunteers with a local not-for-profit neighborhood advocacy group.

Lambert

Since joining Allana Buick & Bers 13 years ago after graduating from Rutgers University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Lambert has maintained a steady backlog of work and provides technical know-how. His past duties included helping to launch and manage the firm's Los Angeles office, where he served as a divisional manager and consultant. He now manages the firm's Seattle office, which he also helped open, and serves as lead technical member. His work includes providing building envelope, roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall systems expertise for his firm, which specializes in improving the energy efficiency of buildings.

Lambert's community service activities include participation in the Architecture 2030 Challenge, which aims to make all new buildings and major renovations carbon-neutral by 2030. Additionally, he is involved with the Community Association Institute, a group focused on building better communities, and he is a member of the Housing Consortium, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Roof Consultants Institute and the American Institute of Architects.

McDonald

Jason McDonald
Eliminating inefficiencies and taking on more responsibilities

After only two years with the 35-year-old Hermanson, McDonald became a partner-owner of the firm.

He is also a leader of the firm's LEAN Committee, which focuses on eliminating inefficiencies and increasing effectiveness in all services. He has assisted with the development of an internal training and education program for junior project management staff to learn the basics of budgeting and estimating, mechanical engineering and project management. His work has also included developing a CRM sales management and project cost database, leading customization of the program and training staff in its use.

McDonald holds a mechanical engineering degree from Edmonds Community College in Edmonds, Wash., and is a graduate of the FMI Leadership Institute and Crestcom Leadership Training. He is also a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators.

A sports enthusiast, his community outreach activities have included coaching in the Pop Warner Football program, Little League Baseball and the Arizona Youth Soccer Organization.

Peyovich

Peyovich started working at his firm in 1998 and quickly moved up the ranks to project engineer, project manager and project executive before taking on his current role as division president. In the year since he became division president, the office has increased annual revenue by more than 35%.

His endeavors at the firm include the conversion of a conference room into a "collaboration suite" equipped with two 60-in. touch screen monitors that contain a "Dashboard" home screen that gives users access to job-related information and can be adapted for foremen and superintendents to use with smart tablets in the field.

Peyovich has led projects in multiple sectors including high-tech, health care, multifamily, office, hospitality, public, federal, and energy retrofits. Some of his most notable projects include the City Center Plaza office tower in Bellevue, the Inn at Suncadia, the Jackson Federal Building in Seattle and numerous projects at Microsoft.

He is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America and the Lean Construction Institute, and during the last two years he has spearheaded Howard S. Wright's involvement with Rebuilding Together Seattle. Peyovich holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.

Rajbaidya

Gauri Rajbaidya

Rajbaidya was born in Kathmandu, Nepal, and came to the U.S. to attend the United World College, a boarding school in New Mexico. It was there that he worked with Habitat for Humanity, building houses and restoring churches. The experience piqued his interest and began a journey in both architecture and community service.

With an International Cultural Service Program scholarship, he earned a master's degree in architecture at the University of Oregon. While there, Rajbaidya studied design and taught digital and hand media to graduate and undergraduate students.

Rajbaidya has been with SERA Architects for the last six years. His focus includes developing BIM models for projects such as the Oregon Sustainability Center and the Edith Green Wyatt Federal Building for General Services of America.

He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a contributing member of SuRG, his firm's sustainable resources group. He has been involved with the ACE Mentorship program and provides pro-bono architectural work for the East Portland Multicultural Center. Rajbaidya also holds a bachelor's degree in physics and fine arts from Earlham College in Indiana
