Throughout Pollock's 15-year career, he has provided acoustical guidance and consulting around the world for hospitals, museums, educational facilities and mixed-use facilities. After just one year with Cerami & Associates as its regional director, Pollock was elevated to partner in 2013, providing leadership and growth opportunities for the firm. He also is a member of a U.S. Green Building Council's National Capital chapter committee on green schools and is a mentor in the "Guru Guidance" program at the Society for Marketing Professional Services. Pollock also volunteers at the Children's Inn, part of the National Institutes of Health.

Margaret Reed
Sustainability leader trains others to advance green building practices

Recently named regional quality manager for Gilbane's Delaware Valley region, Reed began her career as a company intern while earning an architecture degree at Pennsylvania State University. She has been a firm leader in sustainability for the past five years, serving as a LEED reviewer for all office projects and helping start U.S. training programs on how to document and promote green building practices, even on non-certification jobs. Key projects include the LEED-Platinum SAP headquarters in suburban Philadelphia and a LEED-Silver dorm renovation at Villanova University. Reed has served for two years as regional chair for the U.S. Green Building Council's Philadelphia area students program, where she recruits colleges and universities to start campus chapters. She also helps spearhead Gilbane's CANstruction effort.

 

ROGGE

Seth Rogge
BIM expert explores ultra-high performance concrete applications

Two years ago, Rogge, a structural engineer, became the youngest associate in SK&A history by excelling at boosting design efficiency and cutting costs of structural framing. He has designed and managed structural design of $500 million in residential and commercial projects, including one that was named outstanding project of the year in 2012 by the Structural Engineers Association. Responsible for managing the structural design team from concept through construction, he has also become the go-to expert in his office for both transit-oriented development design and building information modeling. As BIM director since 2008, Rogge is responsible for managing 80 staffers in the quality and performance of the firm's 3D models. Currently, Rogge is completing a Ph.D. dissertation in the area of ultra-high performance concrete at the University of Maryland.

 

VARGHESE

Bennett Varghese
Child advocate fulfilled a life-long dream to become an architect

Since a young age, Varghese has been driven to excel as an architect. While earning his bachelor's degree in architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, he began taking extra courses to fulfill a concurrent master's degree in management, earning both in 1996. He later earned an MBA while working in construction full time. Upon joining the State Dept. as an architect in 2003, Varghese was tasked as the project site representative for construction of a new 27-story U.S. Mission to the U.N. building in New York City. Three years ago, Varghese was promoted to headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he is currently managing the U.S. Diplomacy Center—a first-of-its-kind museum dedicated to the history of American diplomacy. He is a trained first responder and volunteers to help impoverished children in the developing world.
